Day 23: SoulCollage® I am one who …

Yesterday I mentioned the SoulCollage® exercise: “I am one who …” (IAOW).

So I thought I would say a bit more about it today.

The audio is a little info-incomplete, so I’ve written some directions below too!

SoulCollage® is a tool for self-discovery.

The SoulCollage® process was created by Seena Frost.

Doing readings with SoulCollage® cards is a brilliant way of tapping in to your own intuition and getting insights or answers in any area that is important to you.

The IAOW exercise:

Choose an image.  It does not have to be a Tarot or angel card. If you’re drawn to the image it can be a greetings card. You could use a photograph from a magazine, or even a favourite painting.

Look at one part of the image you’ve chosen – just select one area to focus on.  It could be a person, an animal, an object or even a landscape.

Begin with the words “I am one who . . . ” and speak as though you were that person, animal, object or landscape.  What would you (it) say?

If words don’t come easily, say what you see.  Don’t overthink it, just let the words flow.

You could record yourself speaking and listen back to it.  Or write it down if you prefer.

Pauses are fine.

Let yourself pause.  In the silence you will suddenly notice something about the image and the words will come.

If nothing comes to you, then simply say what you see.

Example:

  • I am one who is sitting down (if they are)
  • I am one who is smiling (if they are)

If you think before you speak you will stop yourself, because you’ll think it sounds stupid. It isn’t.

Allow yourself to say what comes to mind. Because when you read or listen back to your words, you will likely get some great insights.

The words that you thought were silly, might prove very meaningful to you and provide the clarity you seek.

I chose two cards at random today to demonstrate the ‘I am one who’ exercise.  This is the first:

Judgement (Tarot) card

SoulCollage

Tarot: Judgement

SoulCollage® cards are not Tarot cards

But you can create cards for anything you want to represent, in your own personal SoulCollage® deck. Tarot’s major arcana cards were something I wanted in mine.

Judgement card: I am one who …

The Phoenix: I am one who is made of bright burning fire.  Fire is my friend.  I am one who is rising up from the ashes, creating new shapes as my energies dance and twirl.

Sun burst:  I am one who shines my rays of warmth and light in all directions.  I provide light and heat to enable seedlings to grow.

Woman in cauldron: I am bursting forth from the egg. I am rising from the cauldron of bubbling ideas.  I am surrounded by my colourful eggs of different colours and patterns.  I am excited about my eggs.

The Cauldron: I am one who percolates over the creative fire.  I am the pot that bubbles and cooks and nourishes you.  I am strong and stable. I will not fall over but will keep your eggs, ideas and other treasures safe – until you are ready to eat.

For me, this reading is about my creativity and new creative projects.

And it is also about other things.

But remember, you do not have to share the meaning you gain from your card readings and the IAOW insights.

You do not have to share everything – or anything.

I love the SoulCollage® process.  I love the clarity and insights it brings.  If it speaks to you, I hope you try the IAOW.  You never know what you might gain 🙂

Below is the second card I chose at random

I didn’t talk about this SoulCollage® card in the audio.  So if you want to try the IAOW exercise with this card, you can.

Of course, you can do the IAOW with your own chosen image instead.

Blue Angel SoulCollage card

SoulCollage card: Blue Angel

Blue Angel:

I call this card Blue Angel because she is all in blue – and the roof of the lantern behind looks like her wings.

What this card means to me

Blue Angel is a strong woman, on every level: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

See her big hammer for smashing through blocks!

She is happy and capable. A ‘can-do’ person that everyone wants on their team.  She loves her work.

I know this card well.

But I tried to look at it with fresh eyes as I did the IAOW.  Didn’t quite manage it, but hey ho!

These are the IAOWs I got today for Blue Angel:

I am one who holds a big heavy hammer and wears a strong belt around my waste.  (I misspelt waist – this could be significant!)

I am one with the lantern at my back.  I am supported.  My muscular arms can easily wield this heavy hammer.

I am one who is smiling.  I am one who is resting a while.

It’s heavy work but I’m happy.

This 30 day Blog Anything project has been heavy work – but I’m happy. Looking forward to a brief rest after day 30!

That’s it for today.  If you had a go at IAOW I hope you had fun – and some brilliant insights.

If this process only helps one or two people, it will be worth writing about. You can’t hope to reach everyone – some just may not be open to it – yet!
